About the job

At Petavue we place design at the core of what we do. Joining our small team as a UX/UI Designer means playing a crucial role in thinking, shaping and delivering new products and design experiences as well as overseeing our existing projects.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with product and business teams to take products from concept to launch, while being able to translate users and stakeholders needs into functional product features with great visual interfaces. You’ll be the second full-time designer joining our team, which means you’ll have the chance to help shape our design foundation from the ground up and the way how we collaborate with our clients.

Your Journey at Petavue

• You’ll be involved in the product lifecycle and will be responsible for taking initial concepts and turning them into real products
• You’ll be responsible for creating user-centered experiences based on research and analytics that simultaneously align with business goals
• You’ll design end-to-end flows, define user journeys and create wireframes and prototypes that can be shared internally and with stakeholders
• You’ll turn low and high-fidelity wireframes into great user interfaces by using existing design systems or building new ones from scratch
• You’ll justify your options and share the rationale behind your designs
• You’ll iterate over your designs, defining and refining the look and feel based on feedback from our team and stakeholders
• You’ll define and build visual systems that can be used consistently across different products
• You’ll document your designs and work closely with the engineering team delivering high-quality assets and specifications and ensuring the successful implementation of the designs
• You’ll work in different product environments including Website, web apps, and marketing material
• You’ll support our marketing team creating website, marketing materials

What We Value

• Be able to align with macro business goals while remaining attentive to micro aspects of UI and UX design
• Be able to create user flows and wireframes, and turn them into final mockups with clear, elegant and engaging user interfaces that effectively communicate the product vision
• Creating and managing Design system/library and components
• Great attention to detail and great understanding of design best practices, including knowledge of typography, color, iconography, spacing and how these elements impact product function
• Knowledge of most common interaction and navigation patterns across different platforms including mobile apps and web apps
• Be able to describe, document or prototype interaction behaviors that are essential to the user experience
• Be comfortable presenting your design rationale to others as well as receive and translate feedback and iterate on designs with our team or stakeholders

What you absolutely need

• Advanced experience with industry-standard tool like Figma/ Adobe Suite
• 2+ years of product design experience
• Prior experience working with SaaS product, small team (<20 people), preferably in a startup
• Be autonomous and able to work alone and take decisions by yourself when necessary while still delivering on time
• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills
• Be based in India and be able to work from our office in Chennai
• #### Nice-to-have
• Educational background in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field
