Senior Car/ Vehicle Artist

Several of our studios seek a 3D artist specializing in vehicle design. This artist will add final touches to nearly complete content, including animations, markup, and polishing for optimal in-game presentation. While most assets are externally sourced, some UV unwrapping, mapping, texture creation, and modeling may be required. The artist will also address content bugs and prepare assets for release.

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle content quality and conducting regular check-ins to ensure adherence to specifications and standards. Candidates should possess experience in creating or reviewing vehicle content, along with proficiency in video game art production and authoring.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Polish/Final vehicle art assets, bug fixing to the delivery of content at the quantity and quality level prescribed by the Vehicle Art Director
  • Review in-progress work and provide written feedback on adherence to technical specs (acceptance checklists)
  • Working in proprietary and third-party authoring tools and source control
  • Working in bug tracking software and maintaining daily bug fix numbers
  • Assimilating the production specifications and deliver consistent positive results
  • Preparation of incoming content to a state of being test-ready
  • Bug-fix – Modify content to correct functional or visual errors or elements out of spec
  • Bug investigation – Periodically, there will be investigative work assigned to the artist for clarification of an issue or search for root cause and solution.Packet validation and creation.

 

Experience & Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in 3D Vehicle and Hardsurface modeling utilizing 3ds Max, demonstrated through a robust portfolio showcasing your work in cars and vehicles.
  • Proficient in other industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with additional software such as Blender and Substance Designer is advantageous, along with the ability to create/export assets for game engines like Unreal Engine.
  • Solid understanding of the 3D game asset creation process, including hands-on experience in modeling and texturing within production constraints (meeting deadlines, adhering to client specifications, etc.).
  • Ability to estimate, plan, and oversee game art asset creation effectively.
  • A minimum of 7 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years in a 3D game or game art services company in either an Artist or Senior Artist capacity.
  • Experience in training others is highly desirable.
