Job Description

Rotoscoping is a technique where artists trace over live-action footage frame by frame to create animation or isolate specific elements within a scene. The responsibilities and skills required for a roto artist are as follows:

  • Creating rotoscoping elements: Trace and digitize live-action footage to create animations or isolate objects, characters, or backgrounds.
  • Ensuring accuracy: Ensure that the traced elements match the original footage accurately, maintaining the integrity of the source material.
  • Collaborating with team members: Work closely with other artists, animators, and directors to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Quality control: Review and refine rotoscoping work to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Meeting deadlines: Complete tasks within the specified timeframe and adapt to changes in project schedules as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in Motion Blur, Fur Details
  • Proficiency in desktop publishing tools including Mocha Pro, Silhouette, NukeX
  • An eye for aesthetics and details
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically & meet deadlines
  • Creative and passionate enough to accept challenges.
  • Adaptability and flexibility towards learning new skills and tools.
  • Focused, committed, and dedicated to finishing assigned tasks within deadines.
  • Basic Language (English, Hindi, Tamil) must be known.
  • Degrees in Arts and VFX are always additional, not mandatory.
  • A roto artist may work in various industries, including film, television, advertising, and video game development.
