CG Supervisor (Hybrid)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CG Supervisor to become a valuable addition to our VFX team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in both the creative and technical aspects of our VFX projects, ensuring their successful delivery within established timelines and budgets.


Within your project you will be working closely with the VFX Supervisor and 2D supervisor as you collectively bring the show's vision to life, while also working with production to allocate resources effectively and manage workloads. Additionally, you'll work with the Head of CG and the pipeline team to seamlessly implement appropriate workflows for your project.

You will oversee a team of artists spanning various CG disciplines, providing dedicated support and mentorship to help them deliver to their best of abilities. Your leadership style should encourage a culture of effective and transparent communication among artists, supervisors, and the production team.


The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in the VFX industry, with a track record of success in both episodic and feature film projects as a CG Supervisor. Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of VFX production pipelines and workflows.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and implement effective solutions

  • Expertise in Maya, Houdini and other industry-standard software

  • In-depth knowledge of USD workflows and their practical application in visual effects production

  • Proficient in Solaris for look development, scene assembly, and lighting

  • Solid understanding of Karma and other production-standard physically based renderers

  • Excellent creative vision, artistic eye, and aesthetic judgment

  • Ensures all CG elements meet the highest standards of quality and consistency

  • History of collaborating with R&D teams, contributing to the development and deployment of new tools in a production environment

  • Demonstrates exceptional organisational skills


 

Leadership and Communication

  • Lead and manage the CG team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality visual effects on time and within budget.

  • Effectively communicates project requirements, expectations, and updates to the CG team

  • Ability to interpret the project’s vision and relay that to your team of artists

  • Be able to sell solutions and ideas to clients, internal and external

  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Great team leader with strong motivational qualities and initiative

  • Provide creative and technical guidance to the team, ensuring a cohesive and visually stunning result.

  • Mentor and inspire CG artists, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.

  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to team members


 

Experience / Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a CG Supervisor with a focus on feature films or high-end episodic content

  • Extensive experience in leading and managing CG teams on complex visual effects projects

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and collaborate within a team

  • Portfolio or reel showcasing a high level of proficiency in computer graphics and visual effects
