Contract Interaction UX Designer

NOTE: This position will be on-site in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles. 

 

Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting contract opportunity for (2) two Interaction UX Designers to support a large tech client of ours. This role requires someone who has a deep understanding of interaction design, strong visual skills and a thoughtful approach to the user experience in all facets of their work. The ideal candidate can specifically can own open ended interaction problems encountered while developing an Extended Reality (XR) product. The current team is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: who all care deeply about the people who use their products. 


Responsibilities:

  • Create robust, coherent, useful, and production-ready design system components that meet the needs of the product, across a variety of devices and brand needs. 
  • Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional product development team to present ideas and design solutions, partnering with engineering to implement, writers and editors to author and revise content, and researchers to validate design decisions.
  • Communicate the user experience to partners at various stages of the design process by making compelling designs and concepts and expressing them in stories, sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, models, & 2D prototypes
  • Provide a strong design perspective, showcasing a fluency with expressing branding within digital product or service experiences.
  • Continuously explore new modes of communication that meet the changing needs of our users (both designers/developers and end-users) in ways that are delightful, understandable, and accessible.
  • Work with the wider XR UX team to craft seamless and consistent experiences across the platform.
  • Help shape processes that enable a sustainable design language.


Qualifications:

  • Min. 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with accessibility standards.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Expert with Figma, with strong awareness of its strengths and limitations
