Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Jr. Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will be passionate about print design and have a strong grasp on Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop applications, to maintain the visual integrity of our brands to effectively communicate the “Brand Messaging Story”. This is a go-to role for supporting the development of office, school and fine art products and delivering a powerful and consistent brand experience. This will be achieved via digital and print form and by leveraging the ability of a proven Jr. Graphic Designer with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing department by executing a variety of print and online art-related projects to help deliver the company’s financial objectives.
    • Types of projects include packaging design, marketing collateral, product brochures, sell sheets, catalogue ads, promotional pages, Tradeshow Banners, labels, signage, posters, product displays, web banner ads, notebook cover art, creative for presentation decks and other internal requests.
  • Explore and stay on top of the design, fashion trends and competitors’ products impacting the department’s core target audience – kids, teens, parents, and young adults.
  • Create graphic layout/design concepts based on popular trends to support core products and new product development.
  • Photo retouching for brand imaging as necessary to ensure top quality visuals.
  • Create quick sketches and exploratory concepts to establish mood and style boards.
  • Interpret design briefs and make meaningful contributions to the creation of design content.
  • Experience preparing print files for release.
  • Contribute to the creative process by proposing creative ideas and solutions.
  • Work closely with the other cross-functional teams to get assets needed for the completion of projects.
  • Other important daily tasks may include:
    • Provide product images to internal and external customers.
    • In-house product photography for print or web is a plus (product guides, online assets, ads, presentation decks and mock-ups).

 

Qualifications

  • A college diploma in Graphic Design
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Graphic Designer or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Has a critical eye on the market and current trends related to Graphic Design, Design tools and social media (Ex. Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.).
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Creative flair, originality, and a strong visual sense with an attention to detail with a strong understanding of the creative process and printing process.
  • Self-starter, capable of taking the initiative to identify and resolve problems and meet deadlines.
  • Accurate and properly built artwork documents within print or web standards and typography
  • Knowledge in video or motions graphics (ex: Adobe Premier Pro & After Effects) is a plus.
  • A solid online portfolio of recent and relevant work.
